This My Excavation

organic ketchup, lindsay in an orange thermal, coffee cups, coffee within, white orchids, purple orchids, stained glass lamps and chipped furniture; bex and the reclining chair, sun and the hanging plant, the rise of the Gulf and syndicated publications, flat on the kidney bean coffee table; chandeliers without syringes, bottles without caps, computers without cords, and the lonely search through iTunes on a Saturday, early; trying to be brave, when i'm not brave, when i'm scared even, and weary; leather and a fish print, 865 B on its own, lime in the bottom of a bottomless glass and the way you feel inside; the broken heater, lightbulb, drawer and floor tile right in between the kitchen and the reclining chair with bex; the hanging plant in the sun, five paint brushes jackknifed in water, the transition to afternoon, bereft of morning, the five people you meet before you die; the god of small things and his disciples, taking these things one day at a time--knowing what 'these things' are; capturing a moment, pinning it down, setting it free; a series of pictures; still the lonely the tired history and digging these things forth; the sound of the unlocking and the lift away.

-my view this afternoon.
